It is one of the main tenets of Montessori philosophy that the classroom should comprise mixed-age groupings. For your child to fully benefit from a Montessori education, it is expected that s/he experience the complete full three-year cycle (September- May) of development in the Primary (age 3-6) environment. The opportunity for daily interaction with age-peers as well as older children is a tremendous advantage to your child. When your child has completed the first two years in a Montessori classroom, s/he will become part of the group of elder classmates whose knowledge and experience in the community will in turn benefit the incoming group of younger children. This cycle contributes to the fulfillment of the promise of Montessori education, and it is a detriment to the community when a child leaves before completing the third year. In some cases, a child stays for a fourth year in order to provide continuity through the kindergarten year (end of the sixth year of age). For this reason, we request that you commit to completing the full cycle of your child’s Montessori experience at Chesterbrook Montessori School. It is a school policy that if a family removes a child from Chesterbrook Montessori School before the completion of the third year, siblings of that child will not be eligible for admission in future years.
Chesterbrook Montessori School has a non-discriminatory policy relative to race, color, national origin with respect to the admission of students and the employment of faculty
